完美体育官网 (B-CU) offers eligible students the opportunity to challenge the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program final course exam. Through this pathway, students will be eligible to sit for the Florida State Certification written exam while being exempt from the skills demonstration component.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible to challenge the CNA certification exam at B-CU, students must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have completed NU 281: Fundamentals of Nursing (successful completion is not required).

Application Process

  • Obtain approval from the School of Nursing.
  • Upon approval, submit a payment of $120.00 at the Cashier’s Window at 完美体育官网.
  • Retain a receipt as proof of payment for exam scheduling purposes.

Preparing for the Final Course Exam

  • Students will be provided with a list of recommended study materials and resources.
  • No formal instruction, classroom sessions, or faculty mentoring will be provided. Preparation is independent and self-directed.
  • You must pass the CNA course final written exam with a minimum score of 80% to qualify for exemption from the skills portion. Only one attempt at the written exam is permitted under this challenge option.

If Unsuccessful

Students who do not achieve the required 80% on the final written exam may choose one ofthe following options:

  • Enroll in the 完美体育官网-CookmanUniversity CNA Program.
  • Independently challenge the Florida State CNA Certification Exam, which includes both the written and skills components (refer to the “Challenging the CNA Exam” section of this policy).

In Florida, you can challenge the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam without going through the state-accredited 120-hour training course. The CNA exam includes both a written and a skills portion, and you must pass both to become certified. If you pass the exam, you receive your certification the same as you would if you went through a training course.

Challengingthe Exam

  • Eligibility: To challenge the exam, you must be at least 18 years old or have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Application: You need to submit a testing application to Prometric with the required testing fees, and also complete a Level II background screening to challenge the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) written and skills exam without completing a formal training program.
  • Attempts: You can challenge the exam up to three times.
  • Training Requirement: After three failed attempts, you must enroll in and complete a state-approved 120-hour CNA training course.

Key Considerations

  • The CNA exam in Florida includes both a written and a skills portion, and you must pass both to become certified.
  • While challenging the exam allows you to bypass the formal training, it's crucial to ensure you are adequately prepared for both the written and practical component
