Hall of Fame Material!

B-CU faculty member, Dr. Torrance Williams, was inducted into the Athletic Trainers' Association of Florida Hall of Fame!

Dr. Williams is the first African American male to be inducted and only the 41st recipient of this award since the organization's inception in 1983.

The Hall of Fame induction is given in recognition of those who have supported the Athletic Training profession through state activities, worked to establish the profession of Athletic Training, and been involved in the caring of the athletes of Florida. Nominees must be Certified/Licensed Athletic Trainers with 20 years’ experience and a minimum of 20 years’ service in the State of Florida. Activities in the Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida, Southeastern Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida will be most heavily weighted. Other professional areas of consideration include research, clinics, presentations and lectures, state meetings, publications, and other honors and awards.

The Athletic Trainers’ Association of Florida is an organization that serves the professional interests of athletic trainers (ATs) in Florida and advocates for clinical practice advancement and recognition of ATs as integral healthcare providers.
